Frequently
Asked Questions – The
most common questions, answered for your convenience.
What
is the benefit of buying online?
Oliver
Diamonds is focused on making savings for our customers. By buying direct from
the manufacturer you are eliminating the middlemen and we eliminate the high
street costs that jewellers pass onto customers. Therefore, bybuying your diamonds on-line with us you save
up to 60% off the high street prices.
What
happens if I don't like the design or wish to return my purchase?
Oliver
Diamonds offers all of our customers a full 30 day money back guarantee (please
see our refund policy). You can have a full refund or we will quite happily re-set
your diamond into another design (there maybe a small charge for making up a
new ring). Please note our refund policy does exclude any items that are a
bespoke design & earrings (for health & safety compliance).
What
if I don't know the ring sizer or if my ring does not fit?
If
you don't know the ring size we have a ring sizer tool that is available to
download instantly: Ringsizer Download. All you need to do is upload it, print it out and follow the instructions to either
measure an existing ring you have or cut out the sizing belt at the bottom of
the download and measure your finger size. On the other hand we can make your
ring to the most standard size and if necessary we can alter the size
afterwards.
Is
it important to buy a certified diamond?
Diamond
certificates offer piece of mind that you are buying a diamond that has been
independently examined for each of the 4 C’s: Cut, Carat, Clarity & Colour.
The 2 main independent & non profit making diamond grading laboratories areGIA & HRD. Oliver Diamonds.com only buys diamonds for our loose diamond
collection that have been graded by these companies. For our ready made
jewellery we supply every product with a jewellery appraisal for insurance
purposes.
Does
Oliver Diamonds deal with conflict diamonds?
This
answer is NO. We have a strict policy of not buying or supplying conflict
diamonds. Conflict diamonds, are diamonds sold to fund unlawful and illegal
operations of non-governmental organisations and terrorist groups. In the year 2000
a number of countries adopted the Kimberley Process to ensure that only
legitimately acquired diamonds are traded on the world market. They established
the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme (KPCS) (http://www.kimberleyprocess.com/).
Oliver Diamonds only work with diamonds and traders that have a certificate of
origin.
How
long will my order take?
Oliver
Diamonds has two types of product, ‘Made to Order’ jewellery and ‘Ready Made’
jewellery.
Made
to Order - This refers to diamonds selected from our loose diamond collection
to set into your chosen setting. This part of our collection is hand made to
order by our experienced jewellers & diamond setters. This service may take
up to 7- 10 working days for the product to arrive safely to your address. In
which case, we will keep you informed of progress throughout. We would
recommend that if you want a customised item that you provide us with 10 days
notice.
Ready
Made - Generally, if a product has been placed by 12pm, we aim to dispatch it
within 1-2 days.
Does
my piece of jewellery come with a valuation?
Every
piece of Oliver Diamonds jewellery is accompanied with an all inclusive
valuation for insurance purposes.
Is
the jewellery hallmarked?
Yes,
our jewellery is hallmarked by the Assay Office of Great Britain. This
guarantees the precious metal content of your jewellery.
Is
it possible to order over the telephone?
Yes
indeed, at Oliver Diamonds we like to speak to our clients, we recognise that
this may be an important purchase and we are here to advise on anything you
need to know that may help in your selection. We also benefit from speaking to
you as we have a clearer understanding of your needs. For any queries, please
feel free to call our office on our direct line 0207 242 8995.
How
will my jewellery be packaged?
Every
piece of jewellery is supplied in either a leatherette, velvet finish or a
wooden jewellery box, accompanied with a chiffon bag and an extra surprise! We
know that presentation is as important as the piece itself, therefore we offer
a variety of gift wrapping services and take extra care in preparing all our
jewellery parcels.
How
will my jewellery be delivered?
Every
order is dispatched with The Royal Mail Special Delivery Services. This means
that each package is insured and cannot be delivered without a signature. In
addition, to make sure that our packages do not get intercepted or ruin a surprise,
all parcels are put together discreetly so that there are no visible clues as
to what the package contains. The name Oliver Diamonds is not printed anywhere
on the package but a return address using the company abbreviation ‘OD Ltd’ is
printed on the pack. The delivery date is the standard date as set by the Royal
Mail Special Delivery, which is normally, the next day before 1pm.
Is
it possible to have a product engraved?
Depending
on the product, Oliver Diamonds offers an engraving service at a minimal cost
whereby inscriptions can be ordered, adding that personalised touch to your
gift. Should you wish to have a product engraved, please call our office and we
will confirm all details before proceeding.
Do
you make other jewellery that is not advertised on the website?
Oliver
Diamonds offers a ‘bespoke’ jewellery service, which is dedicated to making any
style of jewellery for your chosen diamonds. All you have to do is email or
